BlueView™ Management System
 |
BlueView™ Management System
Centralized configuration,
monitoring, policy enforcement and maintenance for your WLAN infrastructure. |
Configuring, monitoring, and managing multiple WLANs has often required the time-consuming laborious task of touching multiple devices deployed in multiple locations. Bluesocket’s BlueView™ Management System simplifies WLAN management by providing true centralized configuration and maintenance, policy-management, and monitoring capabilities for the BlueSecure™ Controllers and Access Points securing your WLANs.
Auto-Discover Your WLANs
BlueView automatically discovers BlueSecure Controllers across a configurable range of IP addresses or networks. Optionally, administrators can configure BlueView to discover and manage specific Controllers by entering individual devices. Once discovered, BlueView places BlueSecure Controllers and the Access Points associated with those Controllers into groups which can be based on organizational structure, location, or departmental management administration.
| HOW IT WORKS |
|
| The BlueView™ Management System eliminates the labor-intensive task of configuring multiple devices deployed in multiple locations by enabling you to provision, configure, and manage all of your WLAN deployments remotely from a central location. |
Schedule and Automate Maintenance Tasks
Do you want to upgrade your network from a single location? BlueView’s powerful scheduling tool enables you to automate BlueSecure Controller and Access Point maintenance and provisioning tasks such as backing up and restoring configurations, pushing out policy or configuration changes, upgrading system software, and installing software patches.
As the demand for wireless connectivity in your organization grows, you can quickly roll out new WLAN deployments by using BlueView to provision, configure, and manage newly deployed BlueSecure Access Points and Controllers from a remote central location. Powerful Reporting
BlueView’s powerful reporting functionality allows administrators to create detailed inventory, user, login and users over time reports for individual BSCs or groups of BSCs. Reports are available in HTML, PDF and Excel formats and can be scheduled for automatic email delivery to multiple recipients. Enforce Centralized Policy Rollouts
BlueSecure Controllers (BSCs) use role-based access control to define which network resources and destinations a user may access, the bandwidth available for the user/role, and whether the user’s traffic is required to be encrypted (e.g., using IPSec, L2TP or PPTP). Using BlueView’s powerful configuration template editor, you can define roles that enforce network usage policies and then push these configurations out to either individual BSCs or groups of BSCs on your network to ensure uniform policy enforcement across your entire enterprise. RF Intrusion Prevention
When combined with BlueSecure Centralized Intrusion Protection System or BlueSecure Access Points, BlueView can also provide RF Intrusion Prevention. BlueView’s RF IPS functionality includes the ability to detect and block rogue access points, ad-hoc users, and alert administrators to RF hacker attacks. BlueView’s integrated GUI provides a complete view of the health and security of the RF environment. Location & Coverage Maps
BlueView allows adminstrators to create location and coverage maps by importing floor plans and locating Access Points and Sensors on the map. Via BlueView’s secure web interface, administrators can graphically visualize WLAN coverage on the actual floor plan and see power, channel, RSSI and AP user loads in real-time. When coupled with BlueSecure APs or Centralized Sensors, BlueView’s patent-pending location technology provides complete location information to indicate where users, rogue APs or WLAN attackers are, thereby enabling you to quickly find and resolve security issues.

Bluesocket ® Wireless LANPlanner™
 |
Bluesocket ® Wireless LANPlanner™, powered by Motorola LANPlanner
Quickly and easily create 2D/3D RF Coverage models from CAD drawing files, scanned blueprints, or rapid sketching. |
Bluesocket ® and Motorola ® Partner to Simplify Wireless Network Design and Implementation
Installing a robust and reliable wireless network begins with a good solid design. A poorly designed network will suffer from coverage holes, poor service areas, slow response, poor voice quality, dropped calls, and inadequate capacity. These challenges can be eliminated with an efficient design leveraging Bluesocket’s Wireless LANPlanner™ software. Leveraging patented technology from Motorola, this powerful software application enables users to efficiently and effectively plan, track, display and document their wireless network infrastructure.
Leveraging Motorola’s RF Expertise
Motorola’s products are backed by a team of recognized RF industry leaders, with patented technology based on almost a decade of research. By using Bluesocket’s Wireless LANPlanner, you can deploy wireless access points and wireless sensor networks in the most complex environments and even design multi-band systems including IEEE 802.11a/b/g wireless standards without being an expert in RF technology. Bluesocket’s Wireless LANPlanner minimizes design and deployment costs and includes the following features:
- Site-specific 3D models that visualize the physical location and configuration of all installed network equipment
- Automated placement and configuration of access points
- Highly accurate coverage and capacity prediction
Motorola’s LANPlanner employs a predictive design approach which uniquely allows companies to consider the context of the environment and predict coverage and capacity before deploying any hardware resources. Motorola’s software enables network planners to import a map of the facility, note the contents and construction materials, designate user regions and applications to be used and place equipment.. The designer then interactively simulates how the wireless signals will propagate and fine-tunes the network design with “what if” analysis to determine optimum performance.
Design and Simulation
Bluesocket’s Wireless LANPlanner enhances wireless network design by simulating the expected performance of your network and graphically displaying these results on a site-specific 2D/3D model. Bluesocket’s Wireless LANPlanner allows you to efficiently and accurately design IEEE 802.11a/b/g and multi-band systems in the most complex environments. You can review vital information such as RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator), SIR (Signal to Interference Ratio), SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio), throughput and bit-error rate. Other features include:
- Automated equipment placement and configuration
- The ability to visualize the physical location and configuration of all installed network equipment
- Automatically create a bill-of-materials and maintenance records
Bluesocket’s Wireless LANPlanner — Site-specific 3D Modeling
This extraordinary software tool allows you to easily convert drawing files or paper floor plans into multiple-story building databases quickly and efficiently. To ensure an accurate design, Bluesocket’s Wireless LANPlanner allows you to specify the RF characteristics of walls and other obstructions from our extensive RF attenuation database. It also stores vital asset location and configuration information in a flexible 2D/3D model for simplified management and future network upgrades. Building information can easily and directly be imported into Bluesocket’s Wireless LANPlanner from an existing AutoCAD drawing, a scanned image, digital photograph or PDF file, or a free-hand or electronic sketch of any site.
With Bluesocket’s Wireless LANPlanner, you can instantly verify and record real-time network performance statistics directly from any wireless LAN client device. These real-time measurement statistics are displayed in a site-specific manner and used to optimize your wireless system predictions.
Asset Management and Network Troubleshooting
Electronically share, store and archive complete documentation about your wireless network performance, equipment location, cost and installation in a standard database. This database can be used for problem resolution by simulating changes to your networks prior to implementation. Technology upgrades can be evaluated for coverage and throughput without the expense of test deployments.
