9:15am - 10:00am Presentation by Keynote Speaker
The Evolving World of Cybercrime
Art Coviello, Executive Chairman, RSA, The Security Division of EMC

Hide Synopsis

In the past 18 months, a string of highly sophisticated and targeted cyber attacks across the globe has revealed a seismic shift in the threat landscape. Criminals, non-state actors such as hacktivists and terrorists, and nation-states have capitalized on the openness of the Internet and hyperextension of organizations to launch increasingly sophisticated attacks against both public- and private-sector organizations. This volume of attacks has now reached pandemic levels, and is not a passing fad or anomaly. It’s a genuine crisis.

To successfully defend against these attacks, security and incident response must be an organizational competency that includes Board level and C-suite support. Combating advanced threats involves fighting an ongoing digital arms race, continually assessing threats and modifying security and risk management strategies. In his discussion on the evolving threat landscape, Art Coviello, Executive Chairman of RSA, The Security Division of EMC, warns business leaders to “assume you’ve been compromised” and provides specific recommendations on how enterprises can defend against these insidious attacks and work collectively to create a trusted digital world that we all can rely on.

10:00am - 10:35am An Optimized and Effective Approach to Data Protection
Don Liew, Regional Business Development Manager (South Asia), Check Point

Hide Synopsis
Today, organizations assume greater accountability for the data they store and process; at the same time, rapidly changing business models force them to make data access more open and allow for greater data and user mobility. The challenge for the security and risk professional is to support these changes while ensuring that data is protected in the way the business demands. Companies are responding to this by shifting their emphasis from traditional measures of bolted-on perimeter and infrastructure protection to deploying a more data-centric approach to security and new approaches to infrastructure architecture. 2:15pm - 2:50pm Taming the WILD Firewalls
Lawrence Loh, Regional Director APAC, Tufin

Hide Synopsis
In today networks, the first line of defence against any unauthorised access or attacks is still the Firewalls. Firewalls technology has improved over the year since the first generation firewalls. And most companies and corporations will have invested in numerous firewalls to protect their networks. But we are still facing problems with unauthorised access and attacks to our networks. The issues are how we are using the firewalls and most important the rules and policies that we put in the firewalls. Come and see how we can better manage our firewalls to make our networks more secure.

3:00pm - 3:30pm Sensitive Data Assets – Trend, Crime and Prevention
Ben Tan, Regional Sales Director South Asia, Imperva

Hide Synopsis
The insider threat has two key characteristics which allow the insider to access sensitive information: trust and access. Yet these characteristics differ from employee to employee with various factors such as rank. What are the parameters that we use to profile the insider threat? As the trend of insider data breaches increases, businesses need to implement a serious, comprehensive data security practice to ensure sensitive data residing in Database and File Servers are in full visibility and control.
Developing a Proactive Security Posture
Vincent Sim, Channel Manager,Lumension

Hide Synopsis

As threats continue to increase in both magnitude and ‘mal-itude’, traditional reactive approaches are consuming the energy and resources of the enterprise security organization, without success. Weakened strategy, rising help desk calls, and lost productivity are tough to defend in the CEO’s office, particularly as the organization’s IT security budget creeps upward.

Join us to learn why the broad adoption of Web 2.0 technologies leads us to the need for proactive (trust-centric) vs. reactive (threat-centric) solutions. During this presentation, we will discuss:

  • Effective security policy definition
  • Reducing endpoint security complexity
  • Prevention of unauthorized applications execution
  • Integrating the best of both blacklisting and whitelisting
  • Reducing operational costs associated with endpoint management

Join us to learn more about a key new security that has “turned a corner and is coming out of the “trough of disillusionment” on the Gartner hype cycle ‘’, according to Neil MacDonald, Gartner VP and Fellow - http://blogs.gartner.com/neil_macdonald/2010/05/11/application-control-whitelisting-interest-is-growing-rapidly/

3:30pm - 4:00pm Intelligent security for the advanced threat landscape
Jeffrey Neo, Sales manager, Singapore, HP Enterprise Security Group, HP TippingPoint

Hide Synopsis
New vulnerabilities and zero-day attacks are discovered every day, and in order to block the exploitation of these vulnerabilities your network defences must constantly adapt. The ability to defend your network automatically in a constantly changing world where an IP address is completely safe one minute and then infected with malware the next is key to managing risk intelligently in your enterprise. Join us for this session to understand how HP combines correlation of information, context, and intrusion prevention technologies to provide organizations with the tools they need to deliver security intelligence and manage risk.
Addressing Today’s Web Security challenges
James Lee (CISSP), Network Specialist - Systems Engineering, Citrix

Hide Synopsis

Not only are web applications vulnerable to attack, they are attractive targets for hackers because they often have direct connectivity with one or more databases containing sensitive customer and company information. Protecting these applications with solutions that simply inspect application traffic to identify known attack signatures is insufficient. Threats against web applications are often devised specifically for a target application, making threat identification by network-level security devices (e.g., intrusion protection systems and network firewalls) impossible—leaving web applications exposed to a myriad of known and zero-day exploits. NetScaler Application Firewall comprehensively addresses the challenge of delivering centralized application- layer security for all web applications and web services.

Citrix NetScaler Application Firewall is a comprehensive ICSA certified web application security solution that blocks known and unknown attacks against web and web services applications. NetScaler Application Firewall enforces a positive security model that permits only correct application behavior, without relying on attack signatures. It analyzes all bi-directional traffic, including SSL-encrypted communication, to protect against a broad range of security threats without any modification to applications. It is also a leading ADC solution capable of providing over 12 Gbps of application security throughput to meet the needs of even the largest networks today.
